Why space is healthy in a relationship
We all heard about the things we should do to keep a relationship alive.
Gift giving
spending quality time,
lots and lots of attention,
communication et cetera.
These tips are trusted and tested as many relationship experts, couples and tweets have attested to the power of these tips
But, what about spending time apart?.
Strange right?. Before you pick up your stones. Follow me for a bit.
Spending time together helps to build intimacy between partners, and honestly couple photos make you feel warm and cuddly inside, but spending time apart can also help you be closer to each other.
I’ve read and heard about couples complaining about the loss of themselves when they get into a relationship, like their sense of self suddenly disappears and the couple become one entity and they hate it.
They love their partner sure but they lose themselves.
The clingy ones, this might be too much but you can’t argue with fact.
Allowing your partner to go off on their own, to do what they like helps them breathe easier and enjoy themselves. Being with you is great and all but you can’t beat time spent doing what you love by yourself.
Be it watching football, hiking, swimming or even lying around being a potato, take time off to just be.
You’ll love your time away and you will cherish your time spent with your partner even more and run back to them.
Try it out.
I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
Peace and love
