Dealing with anger
Anger is a normal emotion everyone of us feels at some point in our life. It occurs mostly when things don’t go our way.
This feeling can be positively utilized in working through problems or speed up the time taken to finish a task, have you ever tried solving maths when you are upset?.. Exhilarating!
As it can be positively managed, it can also be negatively channeled through acts of aggression, outbursts, violence, rudeness, tantrums etc. We most times find it hard to deal with this anger but here are a few ways to combat this issue;
- COUNTING AND BREATH CONTROL This is my personal favorite and I use it always. Whenever you find yourself getting angry, just find a quiet place or stay where you are and focus on your breathing while counting downwards from 10-1 and from 1-10 continuously and you’re sure to be calm in minutes.
- MUSIC AND BOOKS
Music they say is food for the soul and energy to the brain. This positive energy released when music is played and listened to helps in calming our emotions. And books, they are our escape from the shackles of reality. Now imagine listening to music and reading your favorite book, you’re on your way to happiness in no time.
- TAKING WALKS
Whenever you find that anger building up, just take a walk. Let fresh air hit you and take away all negative emotions and distract you with the beauty of life. This is a sure antidote for anger, and is of course one way of dealing with anger.
These are just a few tips that actually work for me and might also work for you too.You can also share your experience in the comment section, let’s find out what works for you.
