There’s nothing like going to a new place, the sights, sounds, new people, it can be inspiring.
Traveling and I are in a love – hate relationship, I love going to unknown places, experiencing new cultures and patterns, but it’s the steps to getting to the new destinations that kill me.
First, it’s the headaches and nausea,
I belong to the select few that can’t go two hours in a moving vehicle without having to swallow painkillers, and drink water to keep from throwing up all over the seat.
If you’re on this table, gather together let’s cry.
Another frustrating thing about traveling is the packing. I used to drive my brothers crazy with the unpacking and packing.
Want an efficient way to pack for the holiday or weekend getaway?
This post is for you.
- Where are you going and why? :
You must be thinking, “that question has been answered already but it is worthy of mentioning”.
You have to know where you are going in order to get started on how to pack your bag.
A trip outside the country, a week at your village, or two days at boo’s apartment which ever it is , you have to know where you’re going.
It is done so as to decide the size of the bag or how much clothes to bring.
- Why you are going:
This is also a good question to ask yourself, for a wedding, funeral or just plain enjoyment?.
Answering this will save you the stress of over packing and being over-dressed and underdressed.
- How much money you have:
This is a vital thing, you’ve already bought your ticket or sorted out transportation and accommodation but have you considered how much it is to really travel?.
The transportation, meals, sales, emergencies that will take place has to be factored in.
You wouldn’t like to be on a trip and suddenly run out of money, that would be devastating.
So extra extra cash or provisions for extra cash has to be made. Don’t forget to factor in exchange rates if you’re traveling out of the country.
Imagine travelling to a country plagued by yellow fever without first taking a shot for it.
You’re looking for trouble.
Before embarking on that journey, you have to listen to your body and plan your trip around it.
If you need to, take your shots or go for checkup before traveling. You wouldn’t want to end up in a hospital, sick in a very foreign place.
You can’t be heading to new York in the winter with beach shorts and tank tops, you’d not only look ridiculous, you would be freezing.
So just before packing, you need to consider the climatic conditions of that geographic region before piling up on sweater or airy clothes.
I hope this helps.
Let’s talk in the comments.
